"Stress comes from the way you
relate to events or situations."
- Chris Presntiss
STRESS is the leading cause of ill health and disability worldwide. According to the latest estimates from WHO, more than 300 million people are now living with depression, an increase of more than 18% between 2005 and 2015. Lack of support for people with mental disorders, coupled with a fear of stigma, prevent many from accessing the treatment they need to live healthy, productive lives.
Globally 1 / 5 people are suffering from clinical depressions and 1 / 3 from Anxiety. STRESS results in high absenteeism and loss of employment.
The past five years have shown an alarming rise of stress and depression in our society, especially in the urban areas and among corporate professionals. If medication is the only remedy used, chronicity, the relapse rate, and the side effects will be a huge concern in the coming times. Naturally corporate(s) will face a challenge in the productivity and retention of employees given the present scenario.
